Singtel x Singapore Institute of Technology have embarked on a Work-Study Programme (WSP) launched in Feb 2023. The WSP is called “The Catalyst Programme” which is a structured on-the-job (OJT) development WSP that allows Polytechnic Diploma holders to secure a full-time position with Singtel while pursuing a university honours degree in BEng Infrastructure and Systems Engineering. This programme is open to Singtel’s internal employees as well as external polytechnic diploma holders preferably from the Engineering domain. Candidates will be offered a specific role as the one shared below. Are you ready for this challenge?

 

Make an Impact by

  • Support on end-to-end project delivery on Data Centre building services and M&E systems fit-out /installation and testing & commissioning. This includes developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing timelines, and ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within budget for building services and M&E engineering related scope for customer server location fit-outs.
  • Prepare fit-out project proposal for recommendation for obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans with detailed tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal operations team, engineering team and clients to understand their requirements and provide support on data centre solutions that meet their needs. This involves assessing factors such as capacity, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate contracts with fit-out vendors and contractors. Ensure timely delivery of projects by coordinating with Product/Sales, consultants/ Project Team, and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including plans, reports, and correspondence.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project timelines and take corrective actions to address delays.
  • Ensure project works are comply with safety and security requirements.

 

Skills for Success

  • A diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering / Building Services from a reputable Polytechnic.
  • Data Centre fit-out project.
  • Perform other job-related special projects as assigned.
  • Ability to work effectively to all project issues.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
