The Singtel Group is Asia's leading communications group providing a diverse range of services including fixed, mobile, data, internet, TV, infocomms technology (ICT) and digital solutions. The successful applicant will be joining Group IT as a Senior Manager, Automation based in Singapore. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Automation Strategy
  • Architect and Design Automation solution
  • Build Dev OPS capability and Agile delivery pipeline 



  • Responsible to ensure that all projects that have TI Automation deliverables are in alignment with the overall Group IT strategies and architecture blueprint; 
  • Responsible for the management of risks associated with TI Automation domains through appropriate standards and policies;
  • Involvement and oversight of the development and maintenance of policies, standards and guidelines that influence the selection, development, implementation and use of TI Automation infrastructure within the Singtel Group, including for onshore and offshore Singtel entities;
  • Ensuring service providers are meeting SLA and KPI for support contracts and driving continuous improvements


Architecture & Solutioning

  • Responsible to create TI Automation solutions that are scalable, adaptable and support the ever-changing business needs;
  • Responsible for the formulation of the Automation technology roadmap including the evaluation of emerging technologies for strategic fit within Singtel business objectives;
  • Ensure that solutions implemented do not duplicate functionalities or diverge from Business and IT strategies;
  • Responsible for the capacity, supportability and lifecycle of the Automation Platform
  • Document Automation Platform Reference Architecture


Project Support

  • Support project deliverables from technical solutioning, adherence with standards and policies as well as to guide the project from technical perspective;
  • Work closely with assigned project managers to ensure project objectives are met;
  • Ensure the complete delivery of projects from technical perspective including the need to ensure that the impact to existing operations and systems are minimised;
  • Develop all necessary technical requirements and inputs necessary to ensure the successful project completion;


Stakeholder Management

  • To provide ongoing advice, consultancy and influence the Business and Group IT on the most optimal TI Automation technologies to achieve service differentiation through innovation thereby unlocking competitive advantage for Singtel Group;


People Development

  • Manage Engineering staff in order to build internal IPs in the TI Automation areas.
  • As a key member of the Technology Infrastructure team, the role  will have to contribute to the creation of processes and procedures to maximise the business value. This role must be able to work across cultural boundaries supporting a hybrid on-shore/off-shore delivery model.


The ideal candidate should have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • IT professional with more than 10 years of experience in a competitive IT environment, including at least 5 years at a management level
  • Implemented AI OPS platform at an organisation level for more than 2000 servers
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a mixed workforce of internal and outsourced contractors to achieve maximum efficiency and results
  • Must have strong relationship building and management skills
  • Must have exposure to outsourcing management
  • Must have basic commercial background understanding such as Total Cost of Ownership, CAPEX & OPEX.
  • Must have strong communication skills, articulate and passionate to liaise across the different departments and to drive policy, governance, processes throughout the organisation
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders by demonstrating the value of technologies;
  • Quality oriented with total commitment to continuous improvements
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure tools and Workplace technologies
  • Strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management Framework
  • Strong knowledge of data analytics, data aggregation and dash-board creation
  • Strong conceptualisation, solutioning, and formulation of the service improvement initiatives
  • Excellent understanding of Automation technology trends
