What You'll Do
Partnering closely with the Associate Director Cyber Culture & Capability, Security Operations Centre (SOC), Threat Intelligence team, and key stakeholders across Optus, you will be responsible for:
- Owning and administering the enterprise security awareness platform, including training campaigns, phishing simulations, real-time coaching capabilities, user management, and platform optimisation.
- Designing, executing and analysing phishing, vishing and smishing simulation campaigns to identify behavioural trends and drive targeted remediation activities.
- Leveraging data, analytics and security telemetry to build meaningful human risk insights, dashboards and reporting that inform leadership decision-making and governance outcomes.
- Partnering with SOC and Threat Intelligence teams to identify emerging attack campaigns and translate threat intelligence into timely, people-focused awareness interventions.
- Developing and maintaining human risk registers, behavioural risk models and reporting frameworks to help prioritise security risks across the workforce.
- Contributing to awareness and capability roadmaps, helping shape security culture initiatives across cyber security, physical security and broader risk awareness programs.
- Delivering engaging face-to-face and virtual security awareness sessions that bring security concepts and risk insights to life for employees.
- Supporting post-incident reviews by identifying human factors and translating lessons learned into practical awareness and behavioural change initiatives.
- Collaborating with Security, Risk, HR and Communications teams to ensure awareness campaigns are relevant, impactful and aligned to business priorities.
- Championing a culture of continuous learning, security-minded decision-making and proactive risk management across Optus.
What You'll Bring
- Relevant experience in cyber security, security awareness, IT operations, human risk management, or a related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience administering enterprise security awareness platforms and managing awareness campaigns within a large or complex organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute and analyse phishing simulations and translate findings into targeted actions and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with experience building dashboards, reporting frameworks and risk metrics that drive business decisions.
- Ability to work with security operations, threat intelligence and security telemetry data to identify and respond to behavioural risk trends.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into meaningful business insights.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across platform operations, awareness campaigns and analytics activities.
- Relevant qualifications in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Data Analytics or a related discipline, with industry certifications such as Security+, CISSP or CISM highly regarded.
- Experience with SIEM platforms, threat intelligence feeds, behavioural analytics or human risk quantification tools will be highly regarded.
