Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband and digital solutions.The AI Centre Of Excellence is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the development of enterprise-grade AI products.
Reporting to the Director of AI Products, you’ll lead a cross-functional squad to discover and deliver new products and services in either our IT & Networks or Empowered Employee Portfolios.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Product Manager in our AI portfolio, you’ll:
- Own and lead an AI product through its full lifecycle - from discovery and experimentation to scaled delivery and continuous improvement.
- Define and execute product strategies and quarterly OKRs, ensuring alignment with Optus’ AI transformation goals.
- Translate complex business problems into elegant, AI-powered solutions that deliver measurable commercial and customer outcomes.
- Lead a cross-functional squad, driving agile delivery and fostering a high-performing, customer-centric team culture.
- Conduct deep user research and market analysis to uncover insights, validate hypotheses, and shape product direction.
- Champion experimentation and data-driven decision-making, leveraging metrics and A/B testing to optimise product performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, data science, design, and business stakeholders to build scalable, enterprise-grade AI products.
- Mentor junior product managers, contributing to the growth of product craft and best practices within the team.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who’s not just experienced, but excited by the challenge of building what hasn’t been built before.
Must-haves:
- 3-5+ years’ experience in product management.
- Proven success in taking products from concept to scale.
- Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with a track record of delivering commercial impact.
- Experience conducting user research and translating insights into product design and prioritisation.
- Deep understanding of customer-centric design and agile product development.
- Solid grasp of AI technologies, including agentic development approaches.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience in Telco network operations, enterprise platforms, or employee-facing digital products.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, APIs, and modern data platforms.
