We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer who will be responsible for Cloud Data Platform Engineering, design, and implementation for Azure & AWS. Cloud Engineers play a strategic role in designing and managing Cloud Data platform workloads, infrastructure, and deployment automations.

Your goal is to transform and standardize Cloud Data Platform design and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in a Multi-Cloud environment (primarily MS Azure and AWS as secondary), along with its ecosystems for cloud-native services.

You will be a part of Singtel Group IT – Data Platform Management, working on Platform Engineering (Cloud - Azure + AWS).

You will collaborate with Group IT Cloud professionals in transforming the Singtel Group Data Platform organization.

• Design and build a Cloud Platform for a data-centric environment primarily on Microsoft Azure, with AWS as a secondary focus, utilizing expertise in cloud services.
• Design and develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Azure and AWS-based cloud development.
• Design and develop CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) deployment pipelines for Cloud Platform automation.
• Lead the design, maintenance, and execution of Cloud delivery processes and architecture within a critical Data Platform Cloud Migration Programme, actively participating in implementation tasks.
• Develop and execute a well-informed cloud strategy, managing the adaptation process for the Data Platform and related ecosystems, including Data Fabric, Customer Master Data Management, and downstream integrations.
• Collaborate with Cloud COE, Infrastructure, Network, Security Teams, Data Platform, and Operations Team to ensure requirements are accurately captured in the Azure Cloud architecture design and effectively executed.
• Analyze and rationalize Cloud Services portfolios, including IaaS and PaaS, integrating them seamlessly and defining migration roadmaps and strategies.
• Provide architectural support to the Solution team for developing solutions on the Azure Platform, actively participating in the development process.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions, and lead the execution of deliverables.
• Translate customer system and solution requirements into Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, guiding the final product development.
• Align and collaborate with internal and external teams (e.g., Singtel Associates, Microsoft, Databrick) to design and build strategic Azure Cloud technology roadmaps.
• Design and define a Cloud Data-Lakehouse platform based on Databrick within the Azure cloud architecture, including implementation of its ecosystem software stack such as Databrick, Kafka (Confluent), Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Azure Vaults, ADLS, and AKS.
• Design and implement Cloud Security measures into the Azure cloud architecture, ensuring compliance and security best practices.
• Develop Cloud Networks & On-premise connectivity solutions within the Azure cloud architecture.
• Define Cloud Monitoring, Auditing, Tracing & Logging mechanisms within the Azure cloud architecture.
• Lead governance forums on Cloud subscription, policies, and Cloud usage of data technology stacks, driving cost optimizations and compliance efforts.

Make an Impact by:

• Manage Iac (Cloud Infra) and CICD for AWS & Azure (Databricks) based Cloud Data Platform for Group IT
• Develop and maintain the Cloud Data Platform architecture, roadmap, and design, ensuring alignment with the Singtel enterprise architecture strategies and standards.
• Design and develop Iac (Infra as code) automation for Cloud Infra for Data Platform use-cases
• Lead Implementations, Design and Operationalization of Cloud Data Platform hosted on MS Azure & AWS
• Executed large-scale implementations using the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and applied principles from Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework.
• Lead design and development on CICD/DevOps pipeline for Cloud Infra automation for data platform

Skills for Success:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.
• Experienced Senior Cloud engineer with a minimum of 6+ years of Software Engineering, 4+ years in Cloud Engineering
•  Proficient in designing, and deploying Public Cloud-based solutions across Azure, AWS, and Private Cloud platforms.
• Extensive experience in Cloud Platform and Design, specifically with Microsoft Azure services covering IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
• Successfully executed large-scale implementations using the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and applied principles from Microsoft’s Well-Architected Framework.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services including EKS, Kinesis, Kafka, S3, EC2, Lambda, RDS Aurora, and DynamoDB. Consulted on large-scale data solutions and integrated services like Spark, EMR, RedShift, and Kinesis with third-party technologies.
• Skilled in Cloud Security Infrastructure setup, compliance management, and expertise in Azure Technologies like Databricks, Data Factory, Synapse, AKS, SQL, Key Vault, Events Hub, Cosmos DB, and more.
• Proven expertise in Azure landing zones, Enterprise-grade Cloud data platform design, Identity and Access Management, Azure Network topology, observability, monitoring, and data platform design.
• Leading Cloud Security implementations, managing logging, monitoring, alerting frameworks, and implementing best practices for scalable, reliable cloud platforms.
• Possesses relevant AWS Certification, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft certifications (SC-200, MS-700, MS-100, AZ-104, AZ-300, AZ-900, AZ-500). Experience in on-premise infrastructure, network solutions, and infrastructure as code/automation tools.
• Strong familiarity with CI/CD Automation & SRE using Azure DevOps, Gitlabs, Atlassian - Bitbucket. Extensive experience in containerized solutions like Kubernetes, Docker.

Adept in Cloud Deployment/Migrations of modern data platforms (Data Warehousing, Data-Lakes). Skilled in various project and architecture methodologies and frameworks (Agile Scrum, Kanban, TOGAF, etc.)
