This role is a fixed term contract for parental leave cover until mid December 2024 (please note the role is salary - not contractor day rate).

The Senior Commercial Evaluation Analyst is responsible for the evaluation of new business opportunities across Optus Enterprise by developing business cases, financial models, associated financial analysis and written and verbal presentation of analysis and recommendations to management. This will involve a robust assessment of customer proposals, new product developments and other investment opportunities working with and providing support to Bid Management, Business Development and other Marketing groups as well as working closely with Sales, Products, Engineering, Marketing, Managed Services and Corporate Finance divisions.This includes the development of alternative pricing and financial structuring proposals for major customer bids and presentation of the results to senior management. This includes participation in strategy briefings and presentations with Sales Directors, Marketing Director and on occasions, the Senior Executive where appropriate.

You will proactively engage with Senior Management, Sales and Marketing as well as the customer to develop pricing strategy structures that meet customer requirements while delivering against financial and non-financial targets for these customer portfolios driving balanced, profitable growth!

In order to provide commercial input into the development of pricing strategies, initiatives and product launch propositions to be presented to, you will need to develop an understanding of customer strategy, requirements, market positioning and their business model, as well as their strategic fit and performance against targets.

In addition, this position will be responsible for the independent review of pricing escalations to Commercial Evaluation, special project enquiries and complex bids and/or recommend alternate courses of action with the aim of driving profitability and maximising shareholder value. The Senior Commercial Analyst will be accountable for the viability of these cases and will act as the first point of commercial sign off.

  • Proven experience to date in a commercial role with experience in business case development, financial modelling, pricing and evaluation;
  • Strong analytical ability and investigative skills, plus ability to independently run multiple projects;
  • Ability to develop effective relationships and contacts throughout the organisation, you are an exceptional communicator!!
  • Strong active listening and interpretative skills, adaptive to change, able to show initiative to improve processes; &
  • Sound knowledge of all Microsoft applications and advanced MS Excel skills.
