Working as part of the Optus Infrastructure Legal team, the Senior Corporate Counsel will be one of the primary legal advisers to the Networks, IT, Satellite and Procurement teams. The role will have senior accountability for specific fields and work across the different infrastructure related business units, depending on the changing business units needs.
Your day in the life of a Senior Corporate Counsel at Optus
- The preparation, negotiation and review of large-scale high-value networks, IT and procurement contracts, including IT system integration, telecommunications networks agreements, satellite and hardware agreements.
- The preparation, negotiation and review of major IT contracts and large-scale satellite agreements.
- Contribute to the wider legal team and support the Deputy General Counsel, Infrastructure, for the benefit of the wider Optus business.
- Manage high value and complex transactions.
- Assist in the management of non-material litigation and advice on claims, including those concerning customers, suppliers, competitors and regulators.
Your skills to pay the bills
- Extensive experience in Commercial, Major infrastructure procurement, Telecommunications, and Privacy and Data Protection Law.
- Ability to provide commercially focused legal support.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills with ability to communicate to people in a range of positions, particularly executives up to CEO level.
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously, including where this involves internal escalations.
