Senior Engineer, Database Service (MSSQL)

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Senior Engineer, Database Service (MSSQL) to join our technology team. The candidate is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level for MSSQL. He/ She will be providing 1st and 2nd level operational database support and respond promptly to incidents, besides investigating & providing temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.

Make an Impact by:

• Manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.

• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve.

• Perform regular security patching for the DBs including Cluster db.

• Handle service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.

• Create, Change, delete users accounts as per request and manage DB access.

• Maintain always on and ensure DR in synch all times besides monitoring and maintaining database backups.

• Prompt 24x7 support whenever required.
  
  

Skills for Success:

• Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on experience managing and administering MSSQL databases in both standalone and clustered environments.
• Extensive experience in managing common Database platform like Oracle, MSSQL including Cluster architecture
• Experience in performing database Patching, backup & recovery as well as excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skill is a must.(Including cluster architecture)
• Implement Database hardening as per CIS Benchmarks.
• Implement and manage Audit, Backup & Monitoring of DBs.
• Accommodative for Shift/ Roster call outs.
• Knowledge in MSSQL and another database language is a mandatory requirement for this position
