The role of Senior Network Engineer is to support the IT operational activities and Infrastructure project, supporting the Operation Manager to achieve the agreed SLAs as defined by the respective Service Agreement(s).

 

•         Comply to ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operation e.g. Change, Incident, Service Request & problem management.

•         Perform regular monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.

•         Troubleshoot network issues reported by users, identify the root cause, and implement appropriate solutions in a timely manner.

•         Senior Network Engineer to lead the Tech-Refresh projects and to ensure deliver on time.

•         To train the staff from the beginning and ensure they deliver the support to BAU, Projects and Tech-Fresh effectively.

•         Extend support and take additional tasks & covering staffs whenever they need it for smooth BAU & project/ Tech Refresh.

•         To lead Firewall hardening, security Patch based on security vulnerability alerts. Ensure to meet Infosec SLA and service improvement in Firewall and Load balancer.

•         Manage and execute Alogsec/IPS in Singtel environment. Work closely with Infosec for Vulnerability management.

•         Need to provide support to Project teams for security/Firewall/Load Balancer in New Home and other projects.

•         Lead firewall risk assessment and audit, identifying and mitigating any potential threats or gaps in the system.

•         Senior Network Engineer will be SPOC from BAU team to provide support to Security team and OpsCU

•         Collaborate with network administrators and engineers to design and implement network upgrades, expansions, and changes, ensuring minimal disruption to network services.

•         Maintain network documentation, including network diagrams configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

•         Coordinate with vendors and service providers for network equipment procurement, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

•         Keep up-to-date with emerging networking technologies, trends, and best practices to recommend and implement network enhancements.

•         Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT teams regarding network-related issues, troubleshooting steps, and preventive measures.

•         Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability.

  • Drive Alogsec and IPS implementation and support
  • Extend support and take additional tasks staffs whenever they need it for smooth BAU operation.
  • Manage security vulnerability alerts. Ensure to meet Infosec SLA and service improvement.
  • Support all project tech-fresh and migrations in Singtel
  • Support all Cisco Network devices and Checkpoint & Fortigate Firewalls, F5/Foundry/Radware load balancers, DNS, SDN, IPAM, Wireless,Tacacs and VPN
  • Senior Network Engineer assigned to lead to do FW/Load Balancer Tech-Refresh projects and deliver the on time.
  • Need to provide support to Project teams for security/Firewall/Load Balancer in New Home and other projects.
  • Lead firewall risk assessment and audit, identifying and mitigating any potential threats or gaps in the system.
  • Attend all proactive/reactive incident tickets acknowledgement and work on it.
  • Mentor team members on technical issues & manage the shift as lead
  • Perform regular monitoring and maintenance of the network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Support & manage Core Infrastructure to deliver desired services/outcomes
  • Take accountable for the quality, timely & customer satisfaction of the project/Network operation service delivery objectives
  • Ensure the Network Operation and Project service delivery aligned with Singtel ITSM standards.
  • Align or enhance ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operations e.g. Change, Incident, problem, release management & CMDB
  • Recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits, or automated security probes.
  • Support operation activities:
    • Service Desk; Event, Incident, Request Fulfilment, Problem, and Access Management
    • Performance Monitoring; Change, Release, Deployment, Demand and Workload Implementation
    • Maintaining Availability (based on Service Design) and Knowledge Repositories
    • Testing and Executing System and Service Recovery Plans based on DRP or BCP
  • Identifies necessary network changes, validates proposed changes through testing, develops/submits a detailed work plan
  • Monitor ASOC and Infosec emails closely and acknowledge and do assessment, if support needed escalate it to next level.
  • Provide project support for BAU projects & enhancement Network
  • Participate in network technology upgrade or expansion projects and testing as well.
  • Implementing and administrating network devices such as Switches, Routers, Firewalls, LB, Wireless Controllers, and Wireless Access Points.
  • Implementing and administrating network routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP & network Security.
  • Report network availability, reliability, capacity, or utilization.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks include Diagram and SOP.
  • Regular configuration backup of all network devices, Ensure all devices are onboarded into Tacacs
  • Work with Hardware vendor closely for the root cause, follow up and replacement of hardware parts promptly.
  • Monitor & measure the performance & availability of systems proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve performance & service level availability
  • Communicate with vendors to gather information about products, alert them to future needs, resolve problems, or address system maintenance issues.
  • Respond promptly to Network incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated
  • Implement information security principals when creating and designing information systems in order to keep all classified and sensitive information secure
  • Responsible for environment maintenance, patches and security updates. Work with security and risk analysis team to maintain up to date environment
  • Involves in operational concerns for architectural decisions at technical competency level
  • Provide support to VPN users  & old unused firewall clean up.
  • Encourages and drives the team through self-development initiatives; mentoring engineers / staff

 

Skills for Success:

 

  • A Degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Managing IT Service Delivery
  • Prior experience in a technical role
  • Strong technical competency with recognized professional certifications in either Network & Security or Systems domain
  • Strong investigative, problem-solving skills - ability to identify problems and provide solutions in Router, Switches, Firewall, Load Balancer, VPN, Wireless, DNS, Tacacs & IPAM.
