Make an Impact by:

  • Co-ordinate closely with INOC (Integrated Network Operation Centre) on the timely fault clearing and service restoration of access and transmission equipment in order to meet the SLA (Service Level Agreement).

  • Troubleshoot fault related to access and transmission equipment. Escalation to tier two technical support if need arises.

  • Responsible for the daily schedule preparation and timely execution of the site survey, installation (including patching work) & commissioning, testing, replacement and preventive maintenance of access and transmission equipment to meet customer and operational requirements.

  • Monitor the health and performance of the access and transmission equipment in the network and carry out remedial action accordingly.

  • Provide support for re-routing or diversion activities during cable related service incident. 

  • On standby duties and silent hour recall. Work on irregular hours, such as at night and on public holiday, weekends, at very short notice when need arises.

  • Coordinate with planner and contractor on the recovery of transmission equipment including shutting down of non-working equipment.  

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Skills for Success:

  • O Level /A level or ITE in Mechanical Engineering / Electrical engineering or equivalent. 

  • Good knowledge on telecommunications engineering and the working concepts of the transmission systems. Experience and knowledge in transmission equipment will be an added advantage, such as SDH, DWDM, GPON, MSAN, MD/ONU/, SIP IAD, CE).

  • Able to work during non-office hours on an occasional basis and be on 24 x 7 hours standby alert for ad-hoc faults.

  • Good analytical troubleshooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation.
