Legal Counsel

Job Responsibilities
•    Provide sound legal advice in a fast paced and dynamic working environment to business units within Singtel. 
•    Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of contracts with particular focus on IT, mobile networks, telco infrastructure and property related transactions. Experience in procurement contracts is an added advantage.
•    Liaise and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to obtain and address feedback on commercial contracts and operational issues.
•    Work with other internal stakeholders both in Singapore and Australia to ensure internal policies and corporate governance is strictly adhered to.
•    Provide legal education and trainings to business units from time to time; and manage compliance programs and policies/procedures.

•    Handle on-going contract issues and change management, provide interpretation to support implementation and recommend changes and best practices
•    Manage disputes and litigations matters.


The Ideal Candidate should possess the following: 
•    Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience acquired in a reputable local law firm or in-house in a telecommunication and/or IT related organisation.
•    Prior in-house experience of at least 1 year is an added advantage.
•    Excellent knowledge of local laws and regulations with particular emphasis on telecommunications, IT, leases, sales and purchase of land including construction/renovation of buildings. 
•    Experience in negotiating various types of property, IT or Telco related contracts, and other contracts.
•    Strong legal/contract analytical skills with a good eye for detail and sound knowledge of general corporate and contract law. 
•    Previous exposure in IT related or telecommunication industry is an advantage.
•    Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated by the ability to interact with all levels of management. 
•    Must be proactive and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment, and to meet critical deadlines.
•    Must be able to work independently as a legal professional and custodian of the company’s policies and as well as working collaboratively as part of a team
