This role is to ensure the smooth running of business operations and drive selected transformation projects. In Transformation Office and Business Operations we focus on building a data driven change culture. To ensure smooth running of business operations the incumber will be involved in coordinating financial planning, operations, performance measurement  to provide corporate view and oversight for all GIT. For organisation transformation projects, the candidate will be involved in conceptualising and driving such projects including Organizational Change Management programs, from formulation of change strategy to execution of the changes and achieving buy-in and adoption of such changes.

The Senior Manager will work closely with the program sponsors and the core teams to ensure that the people side of change are understood, and appropriate plans are put in place and executed against to manage those changes. The Senior Manager is also the voice of impacted groups, where possible influencing the design of the programs to ensure maximum adoption and realisation of business objectives.

The Senior Manager will also drive the delivery of a multi-year transformation program including maintaining oversight of all work streams within that program.  In addition, the Senior Manager is expected to lead and facilitate the design and implementation of initiatives identified for the program. 

Other key deliverables associated with the role are:                                                                                                                                       

  • Being a subject matter expert in change management practice and assisting in growing the change competencies and engagement of the sponsor and project core team
  • Design and facilitating workshops with the purpose of empowering people to collaborate
  • Other tasks assigned

The successful candidate will need to be able to manage multiple stakeholders, including senior management, with competing demands and will have worked on large-scale, international change management initiatives in the past.

To be successful in the role, the incumbent will need to think both strategically and tactically, move seamlessly from design to execution, be highly proactive, resilient and flexible and be prepared to “get in the trenches” and work alongside stakeholders at all times to ensure high-quality execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Operations     

  • Provide corporate view and oversight for all operations in GIT
  • Identify and develop processes to improve overall organisational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Aptitude to understand data and information to drive necessary changes and optimisation efforts

             

Transformation Projects             

  • Ensures initiative is well designed and implemented. Incumbent needs to facilitate the identification of timelines, dashboards and financial scorecards for each initiative progress and potential red flags
  • Demonstrate success managing complex cross-discipline projects: identify the skills and resources needed to deliver project executions and coordinate the timely delivery of the work across teams
  • Ensure projects meet time and budget constraints, delivering business value, and produce high-quality results

 

Change Execution          

  • Apply a structured change management approach and methodology to all initiatives
  • Develop and execute change management plans for the specific groups being impacted by change initiatives
  • Identify potential risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
  • Create and manage measurement systems to track adoption, utilisation and proficiency of individual changes
  • Identify resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions
  • Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader in change management to assist in raising the change competency of sponsors and core project team members

 

Stakeholder Management          

  • Establish and maintain effective partnerships with the senior leaders, project teams and frontline execution teams
  • Act as a strong advocate of organisational people strategies and leader led principles
  • Operate with integrity and build and maintain trust with all stakeholders
  • Develop a strong understanding of the challenges and specific needs of the stakeholders

 

Program and project Management

  • Partnering executive sponsors to develop and document detailed plans for implementation and operational execution
  • Overall program administration, including planning, directing and controlling resources, costs, budget and scope
  • Build, integrate, monitor and control all work streams within program
  • Facilitate resolution of issues and escalations, escalate to executive sponsors when necessary
  • Define and implement continuous program risks analysis and required mitigation and corrective actions
  • Develop and implement performance metrics and measurements to track program and work stream performance and realization of business cases

 

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in large and complex enterprises.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications and background in Organization Change Management and Program/Project Management
  • Extensive change and project management experience in a large and dynamic organisation; dealing with complex changes
  • Knowledge of a technology based organisation with the ability to understand systems, products and processes
  • Proven ability to prioritise and manage a substantial workload
  • Superior stakeholder management skills to work with many stakeholders with competing requirements
  • Highly developed communications, collaboration and business partnering skills
  • Ability to teach, coach, facilitate and nurture program members on everything change management
