Senior Network Engineer
Date: 13 Jul 2026
Location: Singapore, Singapore
Company: Singtel Group
We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to lead the design, implementation, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical and highly resilient data centre environments.
This role requires a comprehensive technical background spanning physical infrastructure (DWDM and Data Centre OT), enterprise IT backbone networking, cybersecurity, and network automation. The successful candidate will oversee the enterprise IT network backbone, lead the Data Centre Cybersecurity team, and drive network architecture reviews for new local and regional data centre developments.
Working closely with Cybersecurity, Data Centre OT, Data Centre Operations, IT Infrastructure, and Data Analytics teams, you will deliver secure, resilient, and scalable network solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.
How You will Make An Impact:
Data Centre Architecture & Physical Infrastructure:
- Participate as a core member of the design team for new local and regional data centre deployments, ensuring network and security architectures are incorporated throughout the design lifecycle.
- Act as the primary networking subject matter expert for Data Centre teams, providing structural, logical, and connectivity solutions for enterprise deployments.
- Lead the physical network design of carrier-neutral colocation facilities, including Meet-Me Room (MMR), Main Distribution Frame (MDF), structured cabling, and interconnection architecture.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure network solutions meet business, operational, resilience, and scalability requirements.
- Cybersecurity Leadership & Operational Technology (OT) Security
- Lead and manage the enterprise cybersecurity team responsible for network security strategy, architecture, governance, and operational security.
- Design, implement, and manage secure network segmentation between IT and OT environments.
- Implement and manage secure one-way communication technologies, such as Data Diodes, to maintain secure data flows from OT to IT environments where applicable.
- Design and manage enterprise network security infrastructure, including firewalls and centralised authentication platforms such as RADIUS and TACACS+.
- Ensure network designs comply with organisational cybersecurity policies, recognised industry standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2), applicable regulatory requirements, and internal security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve cybersecurity incident response frameworks and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for data centre environments.
Network Engineering & Automation
- Design, implement, and support enterprise WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewall, and DWDM network solutions.
- Lead detailed network designs for enterprise IT and Operational Technology (OT) environments across multiple data centres.
- Manage and optimise the global enterprise network backbone, including DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical transport infrastructure.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching platforms, including Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Arista, or equivalent technologies.
- Design and support highly available, low-latency, and resilient enterprise network infrastructure for mission-critical environments.
- Implement network segmentation and security controls to securely isolate OT and IT environments using unidirectional gateway technologies where appropriate.
- Collaborate with Data Centre OT and Data Centre Security teams to align network architecture with operational continuity, safety, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements.
- Design and implement network automation and orchestration solutions using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, or equivalent technologies to improve provisioning, configuration management, and operational efficiency.
- Utilise Linux operating systems for network diagnostics, automation, scripting, and systems integration.
Operations, Troubleshooting & Incident Management
- Serve as the technical escalation point for complex enterprise networking and cybersecurity incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead network maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and change activities while minimising service disruption.
- Monitor enterprise network performance, availability, and capacity, recommending continuous improvements where appropriate.
- Participate in an on-call and technical escalation rotation as required.
- Leadership, Strategy & Project Management
- Lead end-to-end infrastructure projects, including planning, budget forecasting (CAPEX/OPEX), resource allocation, scheduling, and delivery.
- Mentor and develop network engineers through coaching, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Develop and present strategic network architecture proposals and technical presentations supporting enterprise and cloud-based data centre initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop network roadmaps that support organisational growth and technology transformation.
- Promote continuous improvement through automation, operational excellence, and adoption of industry best practices.
Skills for Success:
- Extensive experience designing, implementing, and managing mission-critical enterprise networking, data centre infrastructure, and Operational Technology (OT) environments.
- Proven experience leading technical teams across networking, physical infrastructure deployment, or cybersecurity functions.
- Experience working in data centre, hyperscale network, or equivalent enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and SRv6.
- Experience with enterprise network monitoring and telemetry platforms such as SolarWinds or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, and network performance optimisation.
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms such as Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Arista, or equivalent technologies, together with DWDM optical transport, Data Diodes, and enterprise firewall solutions.
- Proficiency in network automation using Python, Ansible, REST APIs, or similar technologies.
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems for networking, automation, and systems integration.
- Active CCIE certification or an equivalent advanced networking certification is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of enterprise routing and switching protocols, including BGP, EVPN, RADIUS/TACACS+, and high-density data centre fabric architectures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support network capacity planning, optimisation, and budget forecasting.
- Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical mentoring skills.
