We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our Group Networks team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing Level 2 support for the efficient operation of the Optus network, including complex network transmission equipment and associated systems such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and power. This role involves managing Tele Power in Exchanges & Data Centres, performing routine, preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance, and collaborating with national and divisional teams to optimise network operations and availability.
The day to day
- Provide Level 1/2 assurance and delivery for systems within the facility, including fault response and build activity completion.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for systems maintenance and commissioning across various networks and facilities.
- Mentor, coach, and provide support to peers and subordinates, ensuring knowledge transfer and training of new people.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- Support deploying and recovering SatCats and portable generators during disasters and other times as needed.
Why you are our next Senior Network Engineer
- Qualifications in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
- Telco experience, including experience in developing technical and business strategies.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a skilled team of professional engineers and cadets.
- Extensive engineering experience in telecommunications, transmission network deployment, HFC, DSL technologies, transmission systems, Ethernet, IP routing, and legacy equipment.
