Join our Billing & Credit team within Group Finance, where we ensure customers across all Optus segments experience simple, accurate and secure billing and payments. As a key contributor to this high‑performing function, you’ll help champion our customers through better onboarding, clear billing experiences and strong financial controls.

 

As the Senior Portfolio Analyst, you’ll use your analytical expertise to build insightful reporting, drive automation & self-serve, , improve credit risk oversight, and support risk‑aware decision‑making. You’ll analyse complex data, develop dashboards and KPIs, streamline processes, and collaborate across teams to deliver actionable insights that enhance performance, reduce risk and improve outcomes for both customers and the business.

 

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead the creation and automation of high‑quality reporting and analytics solutions for to monitor controls across the E2E credit management & credit lifecycle across all channels and all systems to support adherence to credit risk internal policies, regulatory requirement, compliance & governance requirements, and to manage overall credit risk performance.
  • Deliver actionable insights by analysing trends, building forecasting models and translating complex performance data into clear opportunities that drive improved business outcomes.
  • Partner with stakeholders by leading performance discussions, managing deliverables, and translating complex analytical and financial insights into clear, actionable business impacts.
  • Collaborate across Optus to align reporting solutions with enterprise data standards, while sharing expertise and best practices to uplift capability across teams.
  • Ensure data accuracy and governance by maintaining a clean reporting catalogue, data library, standard operating procedures, enforcing consistent definitions and methods, and building strong data models.

 

What makes you perfect for the role?

  • Degree in business, finance, statistics or related field, with telco experience valued.
  • 5+ years in data analytics with strong skills in data modelling, integration, visualisation and advanced SQL across large datasets.
  • Proficient with BI tools (Tableau, Cognos, Alteryx), advanced Excel/VBA, and experienced in data quality, lineage and ETL processes.
  • Solid background in credit risk, billing or financial reporting, with the ability to translate policy and regulatory requirements into actionable, compliant insights.
  • High proficiency in Excel (financial analysis and modelling), PowerPoint, and complex database work.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex insights for senior stakeholders.
