Responsibilities within the New Satellite Program includes:

 

Project Management

 

  • Assist the Project Director in planning and defining project scope and objectives.
  • Track project performance to ensure the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Develop a master project schedule and manage day-to-day tasks.
  • Coordinate the availability and allocation of internal and external resources.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project reports and documentation.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, functional units, and external vendors for approval of project variations or ad hoc tasks.
  • Monitor potential project risks and implement risk mitigation plans.
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed.

 

Consultant and Vendor Management

  • Define and manage the scope of work and deliverables for satellite consultants.
  • Define and manage the launch service provider’s scope of work and deliverables for the satellite launch.
  • Review technical interfaces with the selected launch vehicle.

 

Launch Coordinator. To collaborate with launch service providers to:

Launch Planning and Coordination

  • Schedule and plan launch operations.
  • Develop detailed launch schedules and timelines.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and mission teams to ensure readiness.

 

Resource Management

  • Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel and equipment, for launch activities.
  • Ensure the availability and functionality of all necessary systems and support infrastructure.

 

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all operations comply with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for all launch activities and procedures.

 

Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.

 

Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all launch-related communications.
  • Provide regular updates to stakeholders on launch status and progress.

 

Technical Support

  • Support the launch service providers in resolving requirements/issues related to launch related requirements (e.g. launch adaptors, launch mass, payload).
  • Participate in technical reviews and provide input on launch readiness.

 

Post-Launch Analysis

  • Coordinate post-launch evaluations and analyses.
  • Prepare reports on launch outcomes and lessons learned.

 

Spacecraft Payload technical lead/ Design and Testing

  • As part of the Spacecraft’s payload technical lead, to review related test plans, PA plans, specifications, and procedures.
  • Participate in space and ground segment design reviews.

 

Communication and Reporting

  • Coordinate and prepare progress updates and technical reports for internal stakeholders.

Skills for Success

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in space launch operations or project management.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
