Overview

A Cyber Engineer is expected to deliver stable, efficient and reliable system infrastructure and operations that meet or exceed the stipulated Service-Level Agreement (SLA). He/She will be supporting the design, implementation and testing of installation of system infrastructure, and perform daily performance monitoring, analysis and maintenance to ensure system infrastructure perform according to SLA. A Cyber Engineer is focused on resolving complex issues and conducting incident/fault analysis. Due to the nature of the job, this role requires one to be on 24/7 standby on-site or on-call to return to work after office hours, weekends and public holidays for operational or implementation projects.

With the influx of new technological trends and changing business requirements, a Cyber Engineer is able to adapt to these changes and eager to pick up new skills. He/she should have a curious mind-set and is tenacious when it comes to investigating issues, and is able to take on an analytical approach in problem-solving and solution-implementing.

What we seek to accomplish together:

• Manage, configure and upgrade a wide variety of security technologies (e.g. FW, UTM, IDS/IPS, SWG/SEG, VPN, EPP, DLP, ATP, 2FA, PAM, etc.) 
• Respond managed security technologies fault alerts and/or customer escalation
• Use strong fundamental knowledge (e.g. TCP/IP) and product-specific knowledge to perform troubleshooting on common technical issues on the managed security technologies
• Perform escalation to internal product domain experts and/or external product vendors
• Work with internal experts/external vendors to resolve technical issues
• Respond to inbound Change Requests (CRs), Service Requests (SRs), Queries on managed security technologies, in a timely manner (within stipulated SLA).
• Plan and coordinate Maintenance Windows with customer on necessary software patching and version upgrades.
• Create and update technical documentations on managed security technologies
• Generate monthly reports according to service scope requirements
• Adhere to policies, procedures and security best practices
• Resolve problems independently and understand escalation procedure
• Develop, build, maintain and test security systems and monitor their effectiveness
• Constantly strive to find vulnerabilities in hardware, software, and applications
• Plan and develop security plans for the infrastructure
• Introduce upgrades and replacements as and when needed by the business
• Appropriately respond to security breaches and investigate how they occurred
• Work alongside associated stakeholders to ensure optimum security levels at all times
• Report to members of senior management on potential threats, proposed improvements, and ongoing security issues
   

A little bit about you:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity roles
• Willingness to adapt, learn and able to strive as an individual contributor and a team player.
• Sound fundamental knowledge on IP networking (e.g. TCP/IP, routing, etc.) and Firewalls (e.g. Checkpoint, Fortigate)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
