This role operates within Optus’ fast-paced, agile Digital Commerce & Platforms Tribe, at the forefront of ecommerce innovation. The Tribe focuses on enabling next-generation ecommerce capabilities for both consumer and business sectors. Its key responsibilities include crafting and implementing digital commerce strategies, building multichannel ecommerce capabilities with a unified customer view, improving cross-sell and upsell functionalities via a universal cart, and automating user journeys to improve key performance metrics like conversion rates and error reduction.
The Senior Solution Designer will play a pivotal role in developing and driving solutions demonstrating Vlocity capabilities such as EPC, CPQ, and Order Management. This includes ensuring the reliability of the ecommerce platform by incorporating proven design patterns, risk management strategies, and staying updated on Salesforce’s communication cloud roadmap. The role requires a strategic problem solver with strong technical and soft skills, including business partner management, communication, and data-driven decision-making, to deliver innovative and commercially sound solutions that balance customer needs with organisational goals.

- Craft and develop innovative processes to operationalize features and capabilities in Salesforce Vlocity, including refining order management and orchestration patterns.
- Ensure production readiness by implementing vital NFRs such as alarms, alerts, dashboards, monitoring, performance metrics, and error management.
- Serve as the gatekeeper for all Vlocity-related process flows and designs within the ecommerce platform, ensuring robust controls and resilience.
- Drive alignment across squads and departments, including IT, Privacy, Regulatory, Product, and Customer Success, to ensure cohesive and effective Vlocity integration.
- Collaborate with delivery and support teams to define capacity requirements, engage senior stakeholders, architects and improve the benefits of Vlocity capabilities.
It starts with you!
- Poses a degree in Data, Engineering, Science, or IT, with lengthy demonstrated ability in IT, digital, or customer experience roles, preferably within telecommunications or IT industries, 7+ years in Agile environments of which 4+ years in Vlocity.
- Owning and managing the Vlocity platform.
- Proven experience in operations management, analytics, security, and delivering products within Agile frameworks, with strong skills in applying policies, regulations, and business requirements effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and manage multiple stakeholders, showcasing strong analytical, written, and oral communication skills, along with a focus on customer experience.
- Highly organised with attention to detail, ability to meet business outcomes, adapt to changing priorities, and take initiative in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Proven track record to lead positively in challenging situations, collaborate effectively, maintain a solution-oriented approach, and continuously seek process improvements and innovative solutions.
