We’re now looking for a Senior Technical Specialist – IP & Cyber to act as a technical authority across satellite ground IP networks and cybersecurity platforms.

This is a hands-on, senior technical role where you’ll shape IP networking architecture, uplift cyber resilience, and influence how secure satellite services are designed, delivered and operated.

Your day in the role

As the Senior Technical Specialist – IP & Cyber, you will:

• Act as the design authority and technical SME for satellite ground IP networks and associated cybersecurity systems
• Define architecture and lead the design, build, optimisation and lifecycle management of IP networks and security platforms
• Ensure the ongoing operational resilience of IP and cyber controls across satellite environments
• Support cybersecurity engineering, including threat mitigation, incident response, remediation and continuous hardening
• Ensure compliance with Optus and Singtel Group cybersecurity policies, regulatory obligations, and Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) frameworks
• Support Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) activities including audits, accreditation and reporting
• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Product, Sales, Vendors and Customers to deliver secure network solutions
• Provide technical governance and assurance across major projects, bids, and new product developments
• Uplift cyber and network security capability through knowledge sharing, mentoring and operational handovers

What you’ll bring

You’re a senior technical specialist with deep IP networking expertise and a strong cyber security mindset. You bring:

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory
• Must hold or be willing to obtain NV1 Defence Security Clearance
• Extensive experience in advanced IP network engineering
• Strong background in IP network architecture, design and implementation
• Demonstrated experience across cybersecurity controls, compliance, risk management and incident response
• Knowledge on security platforms such as SIEM, EDR, PAM/PIAM, vulnerability management, patching and CMDB
• Knowledge on cloud and hybrid environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and virtualised infrastructure
• Solid understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity and resilience design
• Ability to work independently as a trusted technical authority while collaborating across complex stakeholder groups
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering or a related discipline
• Industry certifications such as CCNP / CCIE, CISSP / CISM (or equivalent) highly regarded
