RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Systems Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining and administering the organization computer systems & networks. 
  • The primary duties will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty hardware components when necessary. 
  • Engineer will also be working closely with customer POC to identify potential issues and fix existing problems in accordance with the specifications & service level.
  • Maybe required to be on shift for 24 x 7 over a period between 2 weeks to 3 months depending on the operation requirement.
  • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Align or enhance ITSM/ITIL methodologies in daily operations e.g. Change, Incident, problem, release management & CMDB.  
  • Respond promptly to incident, root cause analysis & provide temporary and/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.
  • Monitor & measure the performance & availability of the network & systems proactively which include daily, weekly & monthly checks and reporting. 
  • Leading in the development / adoption and enforcement of Information Security policies, procedures and standards. Conduct review in accordance with customer / statutory requirements 
  • Define, create and maintain the documentation for certification and accreditation of each information system in accordance with customer / statutory requirements. 
  • Evaluation and compliance with security measures. 
  • Disaster Recovery and Emergency operating procedures. 
  • Incident Response and process protocols including Incident Reporting and Sanctions. 
  • Testing of the procedures, mechanisms and measures. 
  • Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures.  Maintaining appropriate security measures and mechanisms to guard against unauthorized access to electronically stored and /or transmitted patient data and protect against reasonably anticipated threats and hazards.
  • Maintain an inventory of all the subscribed information assets
  • Delete the records that are not needed any more
  • Dispose of media and equipment no longer in use, in a secure way
  • Review network & systems in order to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades.
  • Assess information security risk periodically. 
  • Conduct functionality and gap analyses to determine the extent to which key business areas and infrastructure comply with statutory and regulatory requirements. 
  • Evaluate and recommend new information security technologies and counter-measures against threats to information or privacy. 
  • Ensure compliance through periodic security audits. These audits should be both internal and external in nature.
  • Ensure that all corrective actions are performed
  • Verify if the corrective actions have eliminated the cause of nonconformities
  • Assess the impacts on the network & system modifications and technological advances. 
  • Establishing new solution that meets the minimum mandatory risk based technical, operational, and management information security control requirements.
  • Performing induction training on security topics for new support staffs
  • Periodic refresh training or security update briefing for existing support staffs 
  • Perform continuous activities related to awareness raising
  • Coordinate the business impact analysis process and the creation of response plans
  • Coordinate exercising and testing
  • Perform post-incident review of the recovery plans
  • Lead / contribute to the development of new initiatives to drive productivity, efficiency and cost savings for the project
  • Design, develop, test and implement agreed solutions 
  • Manage and monitor development progress to ensure deliverables are on track

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Competency in Windows OS 2008 & above, VMWare 5.0 & above
  • Experience in the following: 
  • Middleware like Weblogic 8.x & above, iPlanet 6.0 & above, Oracle middleware, IIS, etc
  • Backup software like Symantec NetBackup
  • Storage like NetApp
  • Possess good verbal and written English communication skills 
  • Required to communicate effectively and frequently with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Possess strong technical and analytical skills
  • Able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently and promptly
  • Able to assess technical impact of problem quickly
  • Demonstrate good and positive work attitude
  • Required to support Infra activities during and after office hours or when activated (esp for urgent cases)
  • Required to take on additional work assignments (on top of daily operational tasks). E.g. Upgrade projects, Capacity planning, Disaster Recovery, etc
  • Must be a strong team player, yet able to work independently
  • Will be working in a team of Wintel Administrators, and working with other technical groups like DBA, Unix, etc.
