A Data Software Engineer would be required to:

• Design and develop Data Application to process large volume of Telco datasets.
• Design and expose data in APIs to support high throughput data processing.
• Work with data engineers, data scientists, business stakeholders and operation team to build and develop data solution through application and APIs to deliver Data-as-a-Service (DaaS)

Key Responsibilities:

Design, Develop, Build, Test and Deploy data application and APIs (web services, streaming, etc)

Work Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Java, Flask, Python, SQL, etc open sources technologies.

Develop and maintain Data REST API (Spring Boot or equivalent) and Streaming API (Kafka or equivalent)

Work in squad-based agile development and using DevOps tools and platform for development

Perform R&D and conduct PoC (proof-of-concept) for new data and API solution

Developer data applications integrating to Big Data platform by using Scala, PySpark or equivalent

Drive optimization, testing and tooling to improve data quality

Design high level & detailed design to ensure that the solution delivers to the business needs and align to the data & analytics architecture principles and roadmap

Collaborate with different stakeholders from business, technical, project management and operation to design and implement the solution.

Ensure best practices, frameworks and re-useable components are employed in the development project

Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts for complex design and eliminate application issue faced by the project and operation team.

Understand various data security standards, information security standard and to apply and adhere to the required data controls for user access

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, IT or related filed with at least 5 years of hands-on development experience
• Hands-on experience in Programming language including Java 8, Python, PysSpark, Scala, SQL, prefer to have experience in Big Data application and Linux shell scripting
• Experience in API Framework such as (Spring Boot, Flask or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge in Restful, WSDP SOAP, XML, HTTP/HTTPS security, Application/Web servers (Tomcat, or equivalent)
• Basic knowledge in Microsoft software e.g. Excel, Word and Power Points.
• Knowledgeable to work with technical and non-technical staff to explain concept and algorithms
• Good interpersonal skills
• Highly self-driven, demonstrate critical thinking, team player & fast learner
• Good technical writing skills and technical documentation
