Overview

As a Devops Engineer, Infra Architect & Service Management, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing automation solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency in IT Managed Services.

What will you do?

  • Develop automation playbooks, runbooks, and cookbooks to streamline tasks related to service delivery and operations.
  • Implement automation use cases in production environments, including support for modifications and troubleshooting.
  • Manage the automation platform to ensure high availability and seamless operational performance.
  • Execute and oversee automation playbooks as part of day-to-day operational activities.
  • Understand automation concepts and their application in day-to-day service delivery and operations within IT Managed Services.
  • Build and maintain automation runbooks, playbooks, or cookbooks using technologies such as: Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Chef (Ruby), Terraform (HCL), Groovy, JavaScript, and other scripting languages.
  • Operationalize and manage automation development initiatives to enhance productivity.
  • Develop automated scripts to test automation playbooks before deployment to production environments.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), including code control and versioning best practices.
  • Familiarity with integration of automation solutions with external tools such as ITSM platforms.

 

The ideal candidate should possess:

Experience

  • Less than 2 years of experience in developing IaC code for automating tasks related to service delivery and operations.
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and configuring automation platforms such as Ansible, Terraform, and Chef.
  • Familiar with code versioning, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices

Proven experience in

  • Implementations of IaC code E2E in a managed services project

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong background in Linux, Unix, and Windows system administration.
  • Hands-on experience in automation, configuration, compliance, and management using tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
  • Proficient in using a wide range of open-source technologies and scripting languages.
  • Practical experience with relational databases including PostgreSQL, MS SQL, and MySQL.
  • Solid scripting skills with hands-on experience in languages such as Python, Ansible, JavaScript, Perl, and/or Groovy.
  • Experienced in source code control and versioning tools and workflows.
  • Basic knowledge of developing playbooks using RPA (Robotic Process Automation) Tools

Non-Technical / Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Passionate about programming and automation, with a constant drive to create tools that streamline and simplify development and delivery processes.
  • Solid understanding of systems, networking, and development tools.
  • Familiar with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.
  • Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality

Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Computer Science / IT-related; and some hands-on experience in developing IaC code using one or more of the scripting languages (e.g. Ansible, Python, Chef (Ruby), Terraform (HCL), Groovy, Powershell, bash)
