Singtel x Singapore Institute of Technology have embarked on a Work-Study Programme (WSP) launched in Feb 2023. The WSP is called “The Catalyst Programme” which is a structured on-the-job (OJT) development WSP that allows Polytechnic Diploma holders to secure a full-time position with Singtel while pursuing a university honours degree in Applied Computing. This programme is open to Singtel’s internal employees as well as external polytechnic diploma holders preferably from the ICT domain. Non-ICT diploma holders are encouraged to apply as well. In line with building capability in Singapore ICT sector this program will develop & groom talent over a 3-year period completing micro-credentials for each module which eventually stack-up to an honours degree in Applied Computing. What you will do?

  • Microservice developer using Spring Boot framework
  • Design and develop functions that meet both business requirement and technical requirements including non-functional requirements (e.g. security)
  • Maintain existing microservice functions
  • Gathering functional requirements and developing technical specifications
  • Conduct System Integration Testing for the software solution, and support User Acceptance Testing
  • Works with L2 support, product owner and internal teams to ensure assigned defects/enhancements are validated, documented and resolved appropriately
  • Provide L3 support to works with other internal teams to facilitate root cause analysis of application issues
  • Resolve Incidents and Service Request within the agreed SLA
  • Comply with Corporate policies, audits, SOP and processes defined
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with both Business and IT teams

 

Requirements

  • Diploma in Computer Science/Information Systems or equivalent
  • Certified in ITIL Foundation will be an advantage
  • 0-3 years relevant working experiences in providing application development, deployment, support and maintenance
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Microservice in JAVA, RESTful API, Spring Boot, MySQL
  • Experience with web application development using React as frontend and integrating with Microservice in backend
  • At least 1 year working experiences experience with OpenShift Container Platform, DevOps, Apigee API Gateway, ELK monitoring and Control-M
  • Experience in Agile process
  • A team player, self-motivated learner, multi-tasking and resourceful
  • Ability to work independently and able to accomplish goals within a short period of time
  • Good communication skills and ability to translate technical terms and communicate with business users
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skill
  • Comfortable working with large amount of data and meticulous attention to details
