Singtel is a global Telco service provider looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer who will be part of the Build-Ops team that manages a range of Infrastructure Services for the firm.

The candidate will work closely with the Technology Infrastructure teams, Wintel, Virtualization, Network and Storage, to deploy and configure high performing platforms and also with the Application Management teams to support, analyze and tune the applications that execute most of Core Telco applications on the GIO servers.

Responsibilities

Build Delivery

•            Build ESXi/Hyper-V/Windows server infrastructure according to design specification provided by Solution Designer

•            Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation (SOPs, standards, how-to, BCP/DR) for services deployed and managed by the team

•            Ensure operational processes are followed, project inventory is updated promptly and documentation is in place before the systems are handed over to operational

•            Maintain standard build implementation plans (SOE) and operational acceptance checklists

•            Responsible for Security remediation of the operating system and make sure environment is audit complaint

•            Integration of backup and monitoring with standard infrastructure, and up-keeping backup and recovery procedure and the security aspect

Incident Management:

•            Primarily responsible for level 3 Technical Support, Systems Management, Administration and Project Support for Wintel &Virtualization platform.

•            Participate in a published 24x7 duty roster and handle all operations and project escalations during standby

•            Provide day to day support through Incidents, Service Requests and change requests followed through, and resolved promptly in accordance with the established processes and the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

•            Work under pressure and fast-paced environment to resolve issues quickly and within SLA and ensure systems are up-to-date

Performance and Capacity Management :

•            Ensuring availability and performance of the Windows & Virtualization system that support the application system.

•            Proactively monitor the Windows & Virtualization systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.

•            Maintain Wintel & virtualization security, managing access, privileges, role and account that supports the application.

Operations and Support Management:

•            Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

•            Manage changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.

•            Pro-actively work on alerts that come through the monitoring software – particularly with ping alerts, and diskspace related issues.

•            Participate in CAB Operations meeting

•            Work closely with various IT Application teams and operations teams to support and troubleshoot problems and issues.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

• Candidate must possess a Diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology / Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in creating quality Detailed Design documents, Test Plans, Implementation Plans and Standard Operating Procedures
• Excellent Knowledge in one or more of the key virtualization technologies: Particularly VMware and Hyper-V.
• Knowledge of X 86 server hardware – Cisco UCS, HP, Dell ( Cisco UCS is preferred )
• Experience in creating quality Detailed Design documents, Test Plans, Implementation Plans and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Very strong background with ESXi and VM environments and setups ranging from monitoring, maintenance, configuration, and tuning.
• Experience and thorough understanding of computer equipment and peripherals, hardware and software including Windows 2008 Server+,  Active Directory, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, IIS, FTP, SMTP, and Telnet.
• Strong Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, VBScript) 
• Basic knowledge of networking strategies and concepts to include LAN/WAN/Firewall and other Layer 3 protocols.
• Knowledge in Remote Management (ILO, Terminal services, RDP)
• Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL/TLS, RPC, SSH, etc.) including the ability to analyze network issues.
• Knowledge of SAN Storage
• Good to have Knowledge in Antivirus tools (Trend Micro)
• Intermediate or advanced PowerShell scripting.
• Must be a good team player and willing to take ownership
• Good communication skills. Possess analytical and troubleshooting skills

Unix/Linux support:

• Good knowledge on Unix/Linux shell scripting (eg Bash, Bourne, Korn shell etc)
• Able to write scripts to automate common tasks in our environments
• Basic Linux operating system knowledge

Required Experience

•            Possess at least 8 or more years of Wintel & VMware administration experience in an enterprise level environment.

o            Knowledge in Windows Server implementation (2008, 2012, 2016), build, administration, support and maintenance and troubleshooting skills.

o            Knowledge in VMware vSphere(6/ 6.5) , ESXi, Site Recovery Manager, vRealize Operations Manager, vRealize Automation is a must.

o            Knowledge in High Availability, Failover Clustering setup and administration will be advantageous.

o            Good to have Antivirus management skills ( Preferred Trend Micro)

•            Knowledge of ITIL service management. ITIL Certification is a plus

•            Working with and supporting Cisco UCS, HP and Dell server hardware.

•            Basic knowledge of Linux Operating systems
