Date: 5 Mar 2026
Location: Sydney, Australia
Company: Singtel Group
Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband and digital solutions.
We’re looking for a Strategic Planning and Enablement Lead to lift delivery maturity, strengthen capability across our Networks portfolio, and translate complex information into clear, compelling insights that enable confident executive decision‑making.
This is a highly visible role, partnering closely with senior leaders across Networks, Finance, Commercial and Operations to enable strong portfolio outcomes at scale.
About the role
You’ll sit at the intersection of strategy, delivery and communication. You’ll build project and portfolio capability, embed consistent ways of working, and elevate the quality of strategic storytelling for ExCo and Board audiences.
Success in this role is measured by stronger delivery maturity, improved capability uplift, adoption of tools and templates, and the quality of executive materials that support confident leadership decisions.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver training, coaching and enablement programs to uplift project and portfolio delivery capability
- Develop and maintain delivery tools, templates, reporting packs and communication standards that teams actually use
- Lead Communities of Practice to share learnings, embed consistency and drive continuous improvement
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that simplify delivery and reduce rework
- Produce high‑quality strategic papers, presentations and Board materials that translate complex data into clear narratives
- Develop strategic roadmaps and scenario analysis that articulate priorities, dependencies and trade‑offs
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align messaging and provide trusted strategic communications counsel
- Track and report on delivery maturity, capability uplift and enablement effectiveness
What it takes
You’re a strategic thinker with a strong delivery mindset, able to move between detail and big‑picture narrative with ease.
- Extensive experience developing executive‑level communications for Board, ExCo or C‑suite audiences
- Experience in portfolio or project delivery enablement, PMO or complex delivery environments
- A proven track record of building capability through training, coaching and embedded ways of working
- Strong facilitation skills: can design and run workshops, training sessions, and forums that produce practical outcomes.
- Outstanding presentation design and delivery: create visually impactful materials that tell clear strategic stories
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence without authority
