A typical day as a Technical Manager, Corporate IP at Optus

You'll lead operational support, performance, and availability of our Corporate IP Network. Your duties include resolving critical issues, providing guidance on complex faults, and addressing partner concerns from the Optus executive team. The focus is on reducing incidents to protect revenue and customer satisfaction.

 

You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining industry standard incident response and driving strategic improvements to support future scalability. As a pivotal player, you will influence network strategy, balancing short-term operational imperatives with long-term business and network improvement objectives.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated expertise in supervising and directing a technical work team, particularly in fast-paced scenarios.
  • Significant expertise in IP and Security Technologies and Service Operations, with a deep understanding of Cisco, Alteon, Fortinet, and Checkpoint hardware/OS.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to investigate and resolve network performance issues effectively.
  • Shown proficiency in formulating and enforcing network and service performance metrics that correspond with Service Assurance targets.
  • Outstanding communication skills, with the capability to present and communicate up to the level of Executive VP and CIO.
  • Skilled at supervising technology providers and achieving project delivery within set timelines and budgetary restrictions.
  • Ability to multi-task, remain focused, and influence other teams to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Telecommunications, or Science subject area is required.
