We are looking for a committed and passionate individual to develop and execute a strategic plan to grow the Optus market share within Queensland public sector and Higher Education in Far North Queensland.

 

Broadly speaking, the territory consists of some anchor public sector and higher education accounts based in Townsville and Cairns with a number of local government and higher education customers stretching from Rockhampton to Cape York.

 

The role will suit individuals with deep experience in public sector sales with a proven track record of success in leveraging a mix of panel contracts, vendor partnerships, bespoke customer solutions and industry insights for ICT solutions sales.

 

*We only accommodate candidates from Townsville QLD and/or those who are willing to relocate as this role will be expected to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the local market. *

 

Key accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain high sales activity levels to generate an effective opportunity pipeline.
  • Work with Optus groups to ensure that new business is implemented effectively and that customers are satisfied with the process
  • Ensure that Optus focus products are effectively represented to all prospects.
  • Develop sound customer relationships, covering all relevant contacts within the customer account.
  • Manage the involvement of all other Optus groups responsible for supporting the customer.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of your complete territory, your specific customers and the opportunities you are working on
  • Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of all relevant Optus forms and systems. Keep the Optus CRM updated with all relevant data. Provide reports to management as required.
  • Provide clear and positive communication to all relevant Optus people to ensure that the customer’s needs are met. Maintain positive relationships.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Five years plus work experience in a Government or Enterprise Sales environment.
  • Five years plus experience in Enterprise & Government sales in the Queensland marketplace.
  • A consultative selling style with the ability to sell technical products and complex business solutions.
  • A high level of general business acumen with the ability to communicate effectively at CIO, CFO and CEO level.
  • Experience in the development of account and opportunity plans and internal business cases.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills. 
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation and effective listening skills.
  • Demonstration of high-quality Sales Hygiene on a daily basis maintaining a CRM to manage customer contacts and opportunities.
