As part of our growing Kuala Lumpur Shared Services Centre, we are looking for a Lead, Compute Infra Services to provide both technical and people leadership across our Compute Infrastructure organization.

This is a technical leadership role responsible for leading the OS Platform Services tower, encompassing Windows and Linux platforms, while also serving as the People & Site Leader for all TI Compute Infra Services employees based in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Director, Compute Infra Services, you will drive platform excellence, strengthen leadership presence in KL, and foster a collaborative, high-performing culture across the organization.

OS Platform Services Leadership

  • Lead and manage a high-performing 24x7 OS Platform Services team responsible for supporting mission-critical and business-critical applications across Windows, Unix, and Linux environments.
  • Own end-to-end service delivery, platform availability, operational excellence, service reliability, and customer satisfaction for enterprise operating system platforms.
  • Establish and drive operational governance, service management best practices, and continuous service improvement initiatives to achieve high availability, strong service performance, and operational resilience.
  • Lead major incident response, service recovery, escalation management, root cause analysis, and problem management activities to minimize business impact and prevent recurrence.
  • Drive OS platform engineering, including evaluation, testing, certification, and deployment of operating system releases, patches, and platform standards to ensure secure, stable, and supportable environments.
  • Own platform lifecycle management, vulnerability remediation, patch compliance, and security hardening initiatives to meet cybersecurity, audit, and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion automation, standardization, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices to improve operational efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance service consistency.
  • Build and develop technical capabilities within the team through coaching, mentoring, workforce planning, succession management, and continuous skills development.
  • Partner closely with infrastructure towers, application teams, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and integrated infrastructure services that support business objectives.

People & Site Leadership (KL)

  • Serve as the leadership representative and visible leadership presence for Compute Infra Services in Kuala Lumpur.
  • Act as the People & Site Leader for all KL-based Compute Infrastructure employees.
  • Drive employee engagement, talent development, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Conduct regular employee engagement and skip-level sessions to understand workforce sentiment and support team development.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture across Compute Infra teams.
  • Coordinate local leadership activities, town halls, employee communications, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Facilitate strong partnership and alignment between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur teams.

Governance & Transformation

  • Promote engineering excellence, organizational values, and leadership behaviours.
  • Support infrastructure modernization, automation, and transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to security, audit, risk, and governance requirements.
  • Provide leadership insights and workforce updates to senior management on people, operational, and site matters.

 

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Platform Engineering, or IT Infrastructure Operations within large enterprise environments.
  • At least 5 years of proven technical leadership experience leading large-scale enterprise infrastructure teams, with responsibility for people management, operational governance, service delivery, and workforce development in a 24x7 multi-site environment.
  • Strong operational excellence mindset with demonstrated success managing large-scale, mission-critical infrastructure services in a 24x7 operational environment, with a focus on service reliability, availability, compliance, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong technical expertise in Unix/Linux platforms (preferably RHEL), with hands-on experience in operating system engineering, platform lifecycle management, security hardening, patching, automation, and operational support.
  • Strong engineering mindset with experience driving platform standardization, automation, infrastructure modernization, and adoption of engineering best practices to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead major incidents, crisis management, service recovery, and problem management activities within complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading geographically distributed or multi-location teams.
  • Proven track record driving infrastructure transformation, automation, and service modernization initiatives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure towers, application teams, cybersecurity teams, vendors, and senior leadership.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance operational stability, technology transformation, and people leadership priorities.

 

Good to Have:

  • RHCE, Microsoft Certified, VMware VCP, Red Hat OpenShift, ITIL, or equivalent industry certifications.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, OpenShift Virtualization, or Nutanix.
  • Knowledge of container platforms including OpenShift and Kubernetes.
  • Exposure to Public Cloud, Storage, and Backup technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise observability, monitoring, and performance management tools.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, vulnerability management, and compliance standards.
