We are looking for a Legal Contract Manager to provide commercially focused legal support across a broad range of technology, cloud, cybersecurity, and partnership agreements. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to draft, review, negotiate, and advise on complex commercial contracts while ensuring compliance with Singtel's legal policies and governance standards. - Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal advice on a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, customer, partner, reseller, procurement, non-disclosure, and technology-related contracts.
- Provide legal support to the Partnership & Alliance, Cloud & Cybersecurity, and Network Security Services business units, with additional support for IoT initiatives when required.
- Partner closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver pragmatic, commercially sound legal advice that balances business objectives with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct holistic legal reviews of commercial transactions, identifying legal, contractual, and commercial risks while protecting Singtel's interests.
- Advise the business on compliance with Singtel's contract policies and governance requirements, including supporting the preparation of contract policy deviation papers where necessary.
- Ensure contracts and supporting documentation are maintained accurately within the company's contract management repository and comply with internal governance standards.
- Build strong working relationships with regional legal teams, particularly colleagues based in Singapore, to ensure consistent legal support and knowledge sharing across the Group.
- Support contract negotiations with customers, suppliers, and business partners, providing practical solutions to facilitate successful commercial outcomes.
- Monitor legal and contractual developments that may impact the business and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes, contract templates, and governance practices to enhance operational efficiency and business support.
Skills for Success
- Bachelor's Degree in Law and admission to practice in Malaysia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, or Australia.
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as an in-house legal counsel reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including NDAs, MOUs, reseller, sales, and procurement agreements.
- Minimum 3 years of PQE gained with a reputable commercial law firm.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating technology, telecommunications, cloud, cybersecurity, or IT-related commercial contracts is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of enterprise technology solutions, including connectivity, cybersecurity, cloud services, mobility, or IoT, will be an advantage.
- Strong legal analytical skills with a solid understanding of commercial and contract law, combined with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience handling international commercial contracts and working with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, practical business language.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively managing competing priorities and knowing when to escalate complex legal matters.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with strong time management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to travel to Singapore occasionally is an advantage.
