This role provides technical leadership in planning and designing IP and Carrier Ethernet networks, with a strong focus on capacity forecasting, performance analysis, and supporting network investment decisions. It involves developing detailed engineering plans, conducting modelling and feasibility studies, and ensuring network performance meets business KPIs across Mobile, Enterprise, and NBN backhaul services. The position also collaborates with vendors, supports RFI/RFP processes, maintains network inventory, and drives cost optimisation through accurate analysis and planning.

 

Your day to day will consist of

  • Develop network plans for building and scaling the Access Network to support long-term growth across Consumer, Enterprise, and Mobile services.
  • Manage network capacity and performance to ensure alignment with agreed KPIs.
  • Design and plan Access Network infrastructure, including POI, metro, and regional IP access aggregation layers.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses, recommend upgrade or rearrangement strategies, and initiate builds through planning notices.
  • Resolve complex fibre design challenges and identify integration opportunities across underground and aerial networks, aligning with broader Transport and Network strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver fibre planning projects, support enterprise bids, ensure resiliency in design, and provide technical guidance and representation in infrastructure initiatives.
